Mount St. Michel

Mount St. Michel is kind of a photographers' Mecca. Most who come to make its picture plan to stay awhile and blend its images with those of sunrises and sunsets, moon phases and tidal runs. We came for only a few hours - at noon, of course - and just to show how good a photographer I really am, we came on a cloudy, dark day. (Sounds like a new TV series, doesn't it?)
We did get some good detail photos, and enjoyed seeing the structure which has served as castle, prison, monastery, cathedral, and tourist attraction.

Also got photos of the bay and the famous mud flats. And briefly, while we were up at the top of the structure the sun came out framing gold-gleaming Michel against a bright blue sky. We got that picture too, right as he was finally delivering his long-awated coup de gras to the dragon.
